Competitive examinations are opened to all European nationals without any age limit.
External exams are opened to candidates who have a bachelor's of art degree or any other equivalent degree. Internal exams are opened to agents who are able to justify at least four years of full time public service. No candidate can apply after five attempts.

Subscriptions to the exams take place in April, written examinations run at the end of August, oral examinations in November. Classes for students in the discipline of curator begin at the beginning of January of the following year.

The Inp also welcomes foreign professionals of cultural heritage who integrate promotions of students belonging to curating disciplines.
