This training, thanks to a partnership with the national institute of territorial studies (l'Institut national des études territoriales) and the city of Paris, is common to future governmental curators, to curators of the city of Paris and to those working for territorial collectivities. It is dedicated to acquiring the professional skills specific to the profession.

School attendance, which lasts for 18 months, alternates theoretical teachings, practical seminars and internships in professional settings, be it in France or abroad. The teaching modules focus on law and economy involved in cultural heritage, public management techniques, human ressources management, construction and development of cultural buildings, preserving and restoring, cultural spreading and mediation, foreign languages.

Scientific research is a very important aspect of the training. As far as possible, students applying for the position of curator are encouraged to carry on their studies and academic research while attending lessons at the Inp. At the end of the 18 months of their training period and after having been confronted with a jury, the students receive their diploma of curator of the cultural heritage.
