Preparatory class
In order to respond to the demand by the French state for greater diversity in the recruitment of positions of responsibility within the civil service, the Inp has introduced, in partnership with l’Ecole du Louvre and l’Ecole nationale des chartes and along with the support of la Fondation Culture & Diversité and l’Agence nationale de la cohésion des territoires(state policy taking action for the social cohesion of cities), an integrated preparatory class to actively prepare students for external competitive curator examinations.
The purpose of the integrated preparatory class is to help candidates prepare for competitive curator examinations by providing them with increased pedagogical support, financial support and tutor skills. This class can accept maximum fifteen students in different specialties.
Candidates wishing to prepare for the competitive curator examinations in the following specialties : Archaeology, historical monuments and inventory and museology will benefit from specific teachings at the Ecole du Louvre while candidates aiming to take the examinations in the archive specialty will benefit from specific teachings at the Ecole nationale des chartes.
Selection
This integrated preparatory class is directed at French and European students, irrespective of age, holding a degree or diploma equivalent, or in the course of obtaining one.
Candidates must meet the necessary financial requirements in order to be eligible for allowances in favour of diversity within the civil service.
Selection procedure of the candidates is organised in two steps: a committee first examines applications and draws up a list of candidates selected for an interview before an admission panel. The list of candidates admitted to the integrated preparatory class is published on completion of these interviews.
Criteria taken into account for the selection of candidates are the following : quality of academic background, performance of the candidate in terms of personal context, familial and social backgrounds, economic resources, personality and motivation.
