Erasmus charter

The obtention by the Inp of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, authorizes students from other European conservation-restoration institutions also benefitting from this charter, to follow full-term study programmes.

An agreement must be put in place between the university of origin and the Inp.

Here are the conditions in question :
- have a sufficient level of knowledge in the field of conservation-restoration comparable to that of students in conservation and restoration of cultural heritage,
- be able to follow classes, conferences, meetings in French (must be able to justify a B2 level),
- must be able to prove sufficient financial resources for living expenses (accommodation, transport…).

The training sessions carried out over a full semester of study during the university year, between mid-September and mid-July, allow internationl students to attend the weekly classes followed by the student conservators-restorers including field-schools. This is in accordance with a programme set up for each trainee by the Department of Studies and the teacher in charge of the specialty concerned but also the training level of the applicant.

Exams take place at the end of each semester in order to validate the ECTS (European credit transfer and accumulation system) gained. At the end of the training course, a short summary of their stay at the National Institute of Cultural Heritage is expected of the students.

The library, documentation centre and computer equipment within the department of conservators-restorers are available to international students under the same conditions as those set forth for the student conservators-restorers. They also hold an Inp student card.

A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the training programme. This is not equivalent to a degree certificate.

Volume of hours and ECTS Credits

The ECTS system (European Credit Transfer System) facilitates the academic recognition of study periods carried out abroad and qualifications obtained from the different nations within the European Union. ECTS credits are a numerical measure of the work load completed. They reflect the quantity of work a course unit requires relative to the total quantity of work necessary to complete a full year of academic study at a given institution.
