The National Heritage Institute compiles and makes available to professionals, researchers and students a number of multilingual online glossaries. These resources facilitate the understanding of technical terms, encourage international cooperation and support the transfer of knowledge in the field of heritage.
Europap, glossary of condition reports in the graphic arts
A collaborative multilingual glossary (French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese) containing nearly 1,200 terms relating to condition reports and general conservation vocabulary. Developed for educational purposes by Valérie Lee, head of the Graphic Arts workshop, it serves as a reference tool for students and professionals.

French–Russian–Uzbek Glossary of Painting Conservation and Restoration
As part of a Fonds Equipe France (FEF) funding scheme led by the French Embassy in Uzbekistan, the INP was able to produce a French-Russian-Uzbek heritage glossary on the vocabulary of the conservation and restoration of paintings, coordinated by Stanislav Khashimov, an Uzbek heritage conservator specialising in paintings, who trained at the Institut national du patrimoine.

A Chinese-French-English Glossary of Conservation and Restoration Terms
Produced in 2016 in partnership with the Cernuschi Museum to facilitate the visit to France of a delegation of Chinese cultural heritage managers, this glossary, comprising some 760 terms, provides the French, English and Chinese equivalents of operational terms to introduce the vocabulary used by heritage institutions, covering key materials, techniques and the fundamentals of condition assessment, scientific analysis, and conservation and restoration work.

Glossary of Terms in Heritage Conservation and Restoration
(French–Chinese–English)
To facilitate future exchanges between students, professionals and researchers in the heritage sector, the National Heritage Institute proposed in 2017 that the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage (CACH) jointly lead a project to compile a heritage glossary. In 2019, a delegation from the CACH visited the INP for a day-long session dedicated to the glossary, during which decisions were made regarding its format and scope. Several specialists were consulted, including a terminologist (from the Ministry of Culture’s Terminology Commission), an interpreter, a lawyer, curators, conservators and sinologists.
The final version of this glossary comprises around 550 terms and expressions, drawn mainly from the heritage codes and laws of both countries, selected by the INP and the CACH. The project was supported by the Fondation des Sciences du Patrimoine and the French Embassy in China. It was carried out in collaboration with the Musée des Arts d’Asie de la Ville de Paris – Cernuschi.

Multilingual glossary of Armenian architectural terms
Supported by the INP and developed under the academic supervision of Patrick Donabédian (Aix-Marseille University), this illustrated glossary already contains nearly 450 entries. Available in French, Western Armenian and Eastern Armenian, it will soon be expanded to include English and Russian versions. It is a unique resource for the study and promotion of medieval Armenian architecture.
